The Company maintains its strategy of investing in the modernization and automation of its production processes.

Investments in 2016 totaled R$ 62,796 thousand and were mainly directed to the maintenance and improvement of machinery and equipment, facilities, and reforestation.

» Investments 2015

The Company has maintained its strategy of investing in the modernization and automation of its production processes.

In 2015, these investments totaled R$ 66,487 thousand and were basically aimed at the maintenance and improvement to machinery, equipment and in the improvement of the Company's physical structures.

» Investments 2014

The Company maintains its strategy of investing in the modernization and automation of its production processes.

 In 2014, investments totaled R$ 49,082 thousand and were basically directed to the expansion of the production capacity of the plants, maintenance and improvements to machinery and equipment and to the physical structure of the Company, principally in respect of the units incorporated at the end of 2013, and also to the conclusion of some projects that started in 2013.

The Company maintains its strategy of investing in the modernization and automation of its processes.

Investments this year of 2013 totaled R$ 83.998 thousand and were primarily directed to expansion of production capacity of existing equipment, maintenance and improvements of machinery and general equipment, the physical structure of the Company and the closure of some projects started in 2012 .

The main investment in 2013 is the expansion and modernization of the Paper Machine I (MP I), located on the Paper unit in Bonita, SC, whose completion is scheduled for July 2014 to expand the production capacity of paper 3,000t / month. Other major investments to improve productivity achieved in 2013 were directed to the V Machine Paper (MP V) and the new debugging cellulose.

The Company maintains its strategy of investing in the modernization and automation of its processes.

The investments carried out in 2012 totaled R$ 51.358 thousand, and were distributed as follows:

The investments in 2012 were primarily improvements and replacements necessary to the smooth running of equipment and the physical structure of the Company, and the closing of some projects started in 2011.

The most important and significant investments are related to the automation of the output from the printers in the Corrugated Packaging SC and SP plants, besides the acquisition of a new printer for the production line of the Packaging SP plant.

This year investments were directed to finish some projects started in 2010 and, to some improvements and replacements necessary to the smooth running of equipments and physical facilities of the Company. One of the most important investments was the acquisition of a substation for the interconnection of the industrial plant in Vargem Bonita – SC to the 138 KV power grid.

The Company continues its strategy of investing in the modernization and automation of its production processes. Investments in 2010 totaled R$ 20,882 thousand, thus distributed:

This year investments were made to keep and modernize the factories and industrial operations, aiming at improving process, productivity and products offered by Celulose Irani S.A. The biggest investments were made in 2007 and 2008, through ‘Projeto Superação’ that modernized Paper and Packaging plants.

» Investments 2009

The Company maintains its strategy of investing in the modernization and automation of its manufacturing processes. The accounting investments made in 2009 totaled R$ 20,297 thousand, distributed as follows:

The investments this year were primarily meant to maintain and modernize factories and industrial operations, in order to improve processes and the products supplied by Celulose Irani SA. The large investments were made in 2007 and 2008 with the Superação Project which expanded and modernized the Paper & Packaging factories.

» Investments 2008

The Company continued on its strategy of investing in the modernizing and automation of the production processes. The accounting investments made in 2008 totaled R$ 127.1 million (R$ 128.4 million consolidated), as follows:

This year, the major investments were aimed at finishing the Superação Project in the Paper Mill Vargem Bonita (SC), in the Indaiatuba Unit Packing (SP) and the Vargem Bonita Packing Unit (SC).

The Superação Project, which had an initial forecast of R$ 127.1 million including the working capital needs, was completed this year and the total funds invested were R$ 160.8 million, without the need for working capital. From this amount the approximate value of R$ 3.4 million has not yet been executed.

Not included in this value is the leasing operations totaling R$ 15.6 million, contracted in the period, which relates to investment in the Superação Project. From 2008 these values have been recognized in the fixed assets register of the Company due to changes in the Brazilian accounting law.

» Investments 2007

In 2007, the Company's main investments were in the Paper Mill - Vargem Bonita – SC, the packaging units in Vargem Bonita - SC and Santana de Parnaiba - SP.

In the paper segment the Company invested, in the technological upgrading of existing machines, and cartons, and corrugated card, it installed a completely new modern and functional plant, in Indaiatuba - SP.

The investments are part of Project Superação, which is ongoing and should achieve the expected results in 2009.

These initiatives reflect the Company's permanent objective to seek the high operational effectiveness and product innovations. The attractiveness of IRANI for actual and potential investors lies in its productive base of renewable forests, investments in technology, in the belief and practice of corporate governance values, environmental conservation and the commitment to social responsibility.

Investments in 2007 totaled R$ 97.7 million (R$ 98.1 million consolidated), as follows:

In this year, the major investments were in the Superação Project in the Paper Mill in Vargem Bonita, SC – and the Indaiatuba, SP Packaging Unit. Resources were also made available for the Vargem Bonita Packaging Unit, SC which should also continue in the first half of 2008.

Of the total of R$ 127 million of the Superação Project, including the need for working capital, so far R $ 59.0 million have been allocated, distributed as shown:
