In 2012 Celulose Irani won the Brazilian Environmental Action Award in the category “Best Work with Air” with the project “Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory and Innovative Actions”.
The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory (GHG) has been carried out since 2006 and in addition to direct actions to reduce environmental impacts, it seeks to identify opportunities for new Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, increasing the transparency in IRANI´s environmental sustainability, strengthening investor confidence; helping to identify risks and facilitating the Company´s environmental management plan.
This is an initiative of the Jornal do Brasil and Casa Brasil, the Brazilian Brazilian Environmental Action Prize is awarded to the leading personalities and companies that contributed to the preservation of the environment.
